Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the above position within the Housing and Community Services Department. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Housing and Community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates and manages the implementation of plans, goals, performance targets, policies and activities for the Environmental health section.
- Conducts research on public health risks within the Municipality and prepares reports.
- Formulates and controls budget for section's budget.
- Manages community health programmes and ensures effective implementation.
- Inspect institutions and commercial building plans for compliance prior registration.
- Conducts industrial inspections to assess adherence to occupational safety and health (OHS) regulations.
- Supervises subordinates and ensures high standards of performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Degree in Environmental Health
- Registered with Environmental Health Practitioner's Council of Zimbabwe.
- Valid practicing certificate.
- Three (3) years Post qualification in Environmental health related courses such as water and sanitation, Diseases Control, Food Safety and Hygiene and Waste Management
- Minimum (3) three years' experience in senior management position.
- A clean record of service and a clean criminal record.
- A citizen of Zimbabwe
- Possession of a minimum clean Class 4 driver's license.
