GIS Technician (Grade 9)

Responsibilities:

• Collection, processing and analysis of geospatial data.
• Digitize and geo-reference spatial data to ensure accuracy.
• Support the implementation of GIS mapping and analysis.
• Create maps or other graphic representations of geographic data.
• Conduct quality checks on geospatial data.
• Contribute to the development of new technologies for data collection.
• Management of maps.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Geographic Info Systems or Geography and Geospatial Science.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Familiarity with GPS devices and tools for field data collection.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role (1 should be in a local authority).
• Clean Class 4 Driver's License added advantage.
