Reporting To: ZINGSA Board
The Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency (ZINGSA), a public entity and statutory body established in terms of the Research Act (Chapter 10:22), is searching for a suitable and qualified candidate to fill the following position:
Role Purpose
To provide strategic leadership, vision, and overall direction of the Agency, ensuring the effective development, coordination, and implementation of National Geospatial and Space Science programmes in line with national priorities and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and ensure implementation of ZINGSA's mandate and corporate strategy.
- Advise the ZINGSA Board and Government on National Space policy, Geospatial systems, and Earth observation initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of national satellite and remote sensing programs.
- Drive innovation, research, and partnerships in space science and geospatial technologies.
- Mobilize resources and establish local and international collaborations.
- Ensure sound financial management, governance, and compliance with public sector regulations.
- Represent ZINGSA at national, regional, and international forums.
- Oversee talent management and human capacity building.
- Ensure performance management systems are aligned with Government expectations.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A Master's Degree in Geospatial Science or Space Engineering, Space Science, or a closely related field.
- A PhD in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- At least ten (10) years in a Space Science, Research, Engineering, and Technology Environment with a minimum of 5 years at a Senior or Top Management Level.
