Chief Fire Officer

Responsibilities:

• Managing the day-to-day running of the fire department.
• Develop and review brigade standard operational procedures & policies.
• Plan training programs and review commercial/industrial building plans.
• Command major fire and emergency operations day and night.
• Determine operations of shifts and advise management on fire matters.
• Investigate causes of fire and proffer mitigation solutions.
• Attend external meetings, civil protection forums, and workshops.
• Anticipate/predict future conditions in fire department operations.
• Enforce council fire policies and bylaws for public safety protection.

Requirements:

• Station officer certificate from the Zimbabwe Fire Services Examination Board.
• At least 5 'O' Levels including English.
• Clean Class 4 Driver's licence.
• Served as a sub-officer or leading fire-fighter for at least 5 years.
• Must be familiar with model By-laws on fire. 30 years old and above.
