Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Establish vector control focal points in all provinces affected by Malaria.
- Establish vector program monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Establish mosquito catching sites in provinces conducting malaria vector control.
- Coordinate and guide activities through standard guidelines and protocols.
- Compile vector control requirements (IRS, LLIN) and activities.
- Coordinate vector control subcommittee meetings.
- Train provincial teams in basic entomology, IRS, LLIN, and resistance monitoring.
- Conduct routine insecticide resistance monitoring and efficacy testing.
- Contribute to national sector planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Assist in insecticide tender processes for timely procurement and delivery.
- Coordinate vector control data and disseminate information.
- Organize malaria vector control seminars and conferences.
- Strengthen collaboration with the National Institute of Health Research for operational research.
- Establish linkages with regional vector control entomologists.
- Liaise with WHO/RBM for Southern Africa.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
- At least 5 years experience at provincial or national level, particularly managing malaria vector control.
- Knowledge of malaria entomological surveillance is a must.
- Well versed in pest disease vector control and communicable disease surveillance/epidemiological analysis.
