Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate development of malaria elimination plans and oversee implementation.
- Maintain malaria surveillance and reorient public/private health delivery structures toward elimination.
- Develop elimination frameworks for the private sector healthcare.
- Maintain an elimination database (GIS, vectors, parasite isolates, interventions).
- Ensure a functional routine and entomological investigation system in elimination districts.
- Assist provinces in prioritizing areas and maintaining an inventory of interventions.
- Carry out epidemiological analysis of malaria elimination data.
- Maintain joint cross-border activities to standardize interventions.
- Ensure classification of every malaria case after investigation.
- Facilitate training of health workers in case investigation, contact tracing, and follow-up.
- Facilitate community and leadership training on elimination roles.
- Coordinate the development of training manuals.
- Ensure comprehensive malaria foci investigation and response is undertaken.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences (Master's is an added advantage).
- At least 5 years experience working in the public health system, especially district and provincial levels.
