Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacant post that has arisen in the Council's Planning Department:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree from a recognized University in Rural and Urban Planning.
  • At least 3 years experience in local Authority, Local Government environment
  • Be a member of ZIRUP
  • At least thirty (30) years old and mature.
  • Knowledge in Local Authority operations.
  • A clean class 4 Drivers' Licence.
  • A Zimbabwean citizen.
  • Knowledge or qualification in urban design is an added advantage
  • No criminal records.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To coordinate and manage the day-to-day functions of the Spatial Planning Department.
  • Liaising with the department of Spatial Planning and Development on planning matters.
  • Plan appraisal and approvals and to Render advice to the Council Planning committee.
  • Preparing layouts/ surveys/ designs and pegging of rural service and business centre plans.
  • Facilitate development control and general administration of the RTCP Act, RDC Act and related Acts.
  • Enforcement of planning statutes-laws, bylaws, resolutions, policies, orders, instructions.
  • Carrying out relevant planning and inspections, pegging and demarcation of land for different land uses.
  • Any other duty assigned by the CEO.
